The department where it all began. In fact, we’ve developed our reputation, in part, by offering our customers outstanding produce. Our produce buyers are always on the lookout for fresh, seasonal and exceptional produce items. Over the years, they’ve established strong relationships with wholesalers and always seem to find the best produce in the Boston area.

From imported olive oils and cheese, to locally baked pastries and breads, our gourmet department offers a wide selection of unique and delicious specialty items.

Our “sliced-to-order” deli department offers the finest meats, cheese and salads from Boar’s Head, Dietz & Watson and Boston Salads, as well as some of our own creations.

Our salad bar is world famous. Over 40 feet long, our bar boasts over 100 fresh and tasty items every day. From all the basic salad ingredients to a variety of unusual items, you’ll easily create the best salad you ever had.

Our staff of creative floral arrangers is sure to be able to create a bouquet that will delight your senses. Our flower department also features seasonal items that bring the seasons and holidays alive.

When we launched our wine department in our Milton store in March of ’05, our goal was simple – bring the best unique and affordable wines to our wine savvy customers. We have a tremendous selection of wines from the world over – from spectacular everyday wines to wines that would make a great gift for a wine connoisseur.

Our natural and organic offerings have been expanding for quite some time. We now offer natural and organic items in almost every department of our store.

These departments are managed by some of the best meat and fish retailers in the Boston area. In Milton, the meat department is managed by Kinnealey Meats, Inc. (617-696-2260) and in Hingham by The Corner Meat Shop (781-749-3891). Our fresh fish department is managed by Rocky Neck Fish Co. Sometimes you want a fantastic meal, but you don’t feel like cooking. The Fruit Center has you covered. Our very own “Dinner To Go” line of prepared meals and side dishes are created in our own kitchen, using the fine ingredients found in our store.

In 2008, Mike's Fresh Sushi joined the Fruit Center. Using only high-quality ingredients, Mike's Sushi is made fresh everyday in our Milton location.
