Winter Wanderlust Wine Dinner @ ester
FEATURING WINES FROM THE FRUIT CENTER
Thursday, January 22 ("snow date": Tuesday, Jan 27)
6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.
Fee: $45, includes a $10 Fruit Center gift card
Join us for our first wine event of the year! We'll be taking our show on the road, traveling just down the street to our neighbor, ester Restaurant in Dorchester Lower Mills. Chef Lola Sotomayor-Ellis has created a seasonal four-course menu, and the Fruit Center's wine buyer Tim Paulus has paired some fantastic wines to Chef Lola's dishes. Tim will be at ester during the event to discuss each wine pairing.
ON THE MENU:
Soup: Brandied Parsnip Bisque cream, butter and brandy garnished with crispy shaved parsnips served with Byron Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County 2013
Salad: Winter Harvest Arugula Salad roasted butternut squash, apples and red onions, toasted sunflower seeds and cider vinaigrette served with Domaine Dupeuble Beajolais, France 2013
Entree: Pan Seared Duck Breast Jerusalem artichokes, orange gastrique served with Seghesio Zinfandel, Sonoma County 2013
Dessert: Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake mascarpone cream and raspberry coulis served with Dell'Acquese Brachetto d'Acqui, Italy
To make reservations, please call ester at 617-698-2261. Plenty of parking is available at The Meetinghouse Bank, just across the street from ester.
From time to time, we have the opportunity to partner with some of our wine maker friends to create a full wine dinner event. Our wine buyer and accomplished chef, Tim Paulus, creates a menu to perfectly pair with each wine maker's wines. Over the past few years we've had the pleasure of hosting Clay Fritz from Fritz Winery, Sean Minor from Sean Minor Wines, David Whiting from Red Newt Cellars and Peter Stolpman from Stolpman Vineyards. Check out these wine dinner menus from past events:
All classes are held at Marketplace Cafe, our restaurant on the second floor of the Milton Marketplace.
